An initiative uniting all South Africans for the sake of our Pets
All over the world, people are trying to live more responsibly. We take greater care to recycle our waste, to save electricity and to drive more fuel-efficient cars. Now a new initiative is helping all South Africans to be more responsible towards some of the creatures closest to us our pets.
Responsible Pet Ownership is all about understanding your pets better so that you can give them the best life possible. It is also about making sure that your pets do not cause problems for neighbours and their pets, allowing pets and people to live together without conflict. Of course, its about spreading the word of how beneficial it can be to share your home with animals and about making South Africa a country that is truly pet friendly, wherever you go.
Responsible Pet Ownership is being given a great boost by the formation of the South African Companion Animal Council (S.A.C.A.C.) a non profit organisation dedicated to promoting responsible pet ownership in South Africa. Industries, pet owners, educators, healthcare professionals and many other organisations with an interest in pets are joining forces to make South Africa a more Responsible Pet Owning country. The S.A.C.A.C. will provide information to pet owners about all aspects of pet care and will work with regulatory and statutory bodies to make South Africa a country where Responsible Pet Ownership is supported by law.
No-one should end their day without experiencing the love of a pet. The Responsible Pet Ownership Initiative is all about making that happen.
If you would like more information on the S.A.C.A.C. or would like to become involved, email responsiblepetownership@gmail.com or check www.petwise.co.za for updates.
